Gryphon Band Information
About The Gryphon Marching Band (GMB)
The Marching Band at Rocky Mount High School has served as a source of pride for the city of Rocky Mount for decades. The marching band received national recognition in the mid-80's when they captured three Bands of America Grand National Championships.
Currently, the band performs at all home games in support of our championship football team. We travel to select away and post season games. The marching band supports the community by performing at parades and various other events. The marching band also travels to perform at local/regional events that can include competitions or events on university campuses.
GMB is an extra-curricular activity that meets after school. This means that it is not a class that would interfere with other course selections. However, students need to make sure they register for a concert band class that does meet regularly during the day.
The Marching Band is very active and the students truly become a family. Being a part of the band at the high school can create lasting memories! We hope to see you!
Below, you will see the 2022 Marching Band Handbook. It is extremely important that you read this document in it's entirety and make sure that you agree to adhere to any and all expectations prior to registering for the band. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Jenkins, Director of Bands- mejenkins@ncpschools.net
